Join us for cocktails, hors d’œuvres and a staged reading, in support of Molière in the Park’s commitment to expanding access to theater to ALL!

About The Ludicrous Ladies:

In this short comedy in prose, Molière deploys his wit and biting humor to critique the absurdity of "social climbing", while reminding us how the fashionable “gallant” behavior of the time continues to shape French culture today.

Starring:

Brooks Brantly*: Last seen off-broadway in the play Unconditional at SoHo Playhouse and Ghosts on CBS, Brooks is thrilled to be working with MIP for the first time. Past credits include: Wine In The Wilderness at Classic Stage Company, FLY at Pasadena Playhouse/Crossroads Theatre and SWEAT at Cleveland Playhouse. Brooks has performed in The Whipping Man, Othello, War Horse- 1st National Tour, Superior Donuts, and Significant Other on Broadway. He loves his friends and family, and despises tomatoes.

Michael Emerson*: Michael made his New York stage debut playing “Oscar Wilde” in GROSS INDECENCY. He appeared in the Broadway productions of THE ICEMAN COMETH and HEDDA GABLER as well as the horror movie SAW. He has won the Emmy Award for roles on THE PRACTICE and the ABC series LOST. He lives in New York and Cold Spring with his wife, actress Carrie Preston.

Lakisha May*: Lakisha May is an actor, producer, and advocate. Her acting credits include The Miser (MiP), Jaja’s African Hair Braiding (original Broadway cast), Ginger Twinsies (The Orpheum), Skeleton Crew (Broadway), Law and Order: SVU, City on a Hill and others. She has produced Broadway shows with LaChanze Productions and through her company (CCC) has produced films with Nikyatu Jusu, Rashad Frett (Ricky, Sundance 2025), Saheem Ali, and others. As an advocate, Lakisha most recently served as chair of the James Beard Leadership Awards Committee. She was the host and lead organizer of SÜPRMARKT’s grand opening block party in South Central, LA. SÜPRMARKT is a low cost organic vegan grocery store. IG: @kisha_may

Daniel Pearce*: MIP: The Miser. Broadway: Othello, Machinal, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Off-Broadway credits include 12 productions with the Public Theater most recently Hamlet in Central Park. Also: Timon of Athens (TFANA), The Most Deserving (Women's Project), Falling (Minetta Lane), The Picture of Dorian Gray (Irish Rep). Film and TV credits include: The Last Thing Mary Saw, Salt, Invisible Sign, Godzilla, "The Good Fight", "Bull", "Murder of a President", "Law & Order" (and all variants)), "Chappelle's Show", “Queen's Supreme", and upcoming “Will Trent”. Pearce received his MFA from NYU and a 2017 Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship for excellence in acting.

Anne-Sophie de Villeroy*: Anne-Sophie de Villeroy is a New York–based actor and producer originally from France. After beginning her career in finance, she moved to the U.S. and earned an MFA in Acting from The New School. She created the short film How I Left Finance to Become an Actor, inspired by her journey. She works across theater and film and has been collaborating with Molière in the Park since 2024, now serving on its board. Active in New York’s French cultural community, she served as a jury member for the Premières Scènes festival in 2025. In December, Anne-Sophie co-produced and starred in The Past Lives of Mike White, a stage adaptation directed by Isabelle Le Normand featuring a series of stories written by famed creator of The White Lotus.
