Join us for a spectacular celebration of 7 years of FREE theater for all in Brooklyn!

The OneLove OneTheater Gala honoring Lynn Nottage and Tony Gerber includes special performances by MIP stars and friends, a three-course seated dinner catered by Night Kitchen BK, the chance to mingle with fellow community members and fabulous artists in an intimate setting, and the presentation of our annual Shoulder- to-Shoulder Award to our honorees. If you have attended an MIP Gala before, get ready for more glamor, more fancy, and more fun than ever before.

Tickets start at $200 and include:

  • Table seating at the event and additional benefits based on your selected ticket level
  • Three course dinner catered of Night Kitchen BK and full open bar with signature cocktails courtesy of Aupale Vodka
  • Live performances including hilarious Molière excerpts, Broadway hits, and unorthodox cello by Drama Desk nominated composer Jonathan Moore
  • A silent auction including destination getaways in the Alps and The Hamptons

All proceeds from the Gala go towards funding our operating costs and paying our artists equitable wages.

The Fair Market Value (aka non-tax-deductible value) of each ticket is $140. You purchase receipt will outline the tax-deductible portion of each ticket.

Shoulder to Shoulder Award recipients: Lynn Nottage and Tony Gerber

Lynn Nottage is the first woman in history to win two Pulitzer Prizes for Drama. Her plays have been produced widely in the United States and throughout the world. Recent work includes the libretto for This House at Opera Theatre of St. Louis, co-written with Ruby Aiyo Gerber and composed by Ricky Ian Gordon (Finalist for 2025 International Opera Award), libretto for the opera Intimate Apparel (LCT), the book for the musical MJ (Broadway), Clyde’s (Broadway, 2ST), and the book for The Secret Life of Bees. Other credits include the libretto for Intimate Apparel, the Opera ( Lincoln Center Theater), and co-curating the performance installation The Watering Hole (Signature Theater). (Atlantic); Mlima’s Tale; Sweat (Pulitzer Prize, Obie, Evening Standard Award, Susan Smith Blackburn Prize); By the Way, Meet Vera Stark (Lilly Award); Ruined (Pulitzer Prize, Obie, Lortel, NY Drama Critics’ Circle, AUDELCO, Drama Desk and OCC awards); Intimate Apparel (American Theatre Critics and NY Drama Critics' Circle). TV: Writer/Producer of She's Gotta Have It (Netflix), Consulting Producer on Dickinson (Apple TV+). Awards: PEN/Laura Pels Master Dramatist Award, Doris Duke Artist Award, American Academy of Arts and Letters Award, MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellowship. She is a Professor at Columbia University School of the Arts, and is a member of the Theater Hall of Fame and the Dramatists Guild.

Tony Gerber, an award-winning filmmaker, has directed in some of the most remote regions of the world including Kingdom of the White Wolf (2018, Nat Geo), a natural-history series filmed in Canada’s High Arctic. Gerber’s collaborated with artists Matthew Barney, Allora|Calzadilla, Ann-Sofi Sidén and Blane de St. Croix on various film and museum installations. He wrote and directed WGA-nominated War Game (Sundance, 2023,) is a producer on Brett Morgan’s Jane (TIFF, 2017,) and the Emmy-nominated Takeover (Tribeca, 2012.) Other directing credits include Full Battle Rattle (Berlinale, SXSX Special-Jury Prize 2007,) and The Notorious Mr. Bout (Sundance 2014, BBC Storyville.) Forthcoming, Our Golden Age in Hell (2027) a documentary about PS122 and the heyday of NY performance art, produced by Lynn Nottage (with whom Gerber founded Market Road Films in 2005.)
